A Cromwell Christmas with Speed Limit
We arrived at the Marriott Hotel in Huntingdon anticipation of another great holiday with our many friends accumulated following Speed Limit and to enjoy some great Country Music to be provided by Clear Cut, Darren Busby, Henry Smith and Country Dreams, Speed Limit and the resident Country Music DJ Andy King.
The Speed Limit holiday offered a variety of options and we chose to book in from 27th December until New Years Day. We had really enjoyed the live artists to be on stage for our enjoyment on this holiday at previous holidays with Tony and Angie so were prepared for some great Country Music for Annie to dance to.
The evening of December 27th evening had Clear Cut, Don and Darren Anthony, on stage presenting a good selection of Country Music numbers to please everyone present both dancers and listeners with their performances during the evening. For us young Darren was excellent when solo, presenting excellent musician and vocal skills.

The afternoon of December 28th brought an unexpected event with Tudor, our great friend from Holland giving everyone who wished some line dance instruction. This session was made all the more enjoyable with Tudor, Linda and Tess filling the afternoon with lots of good humour and laughing.
Much to our delight Speed Limit were on stage for the evening performance with Tony and Angie on top form as usual playing many of our favourite numbers and pleasing everyone with dedications, requests and ensuring many surprised and very happy faces
The next day December 29th presented two live acts on stage with the afternoon performance by Darren Busby and in the evening Henry Smith and Country Dreams.
.
Darren with his smooth voice and fine choice of songs in his sets coupled with plenty of jokes showed why he is one of the UK’s best loved solo artists.
The evening session brought the fabulous band of Henry Smith and Country Dreams on stage to provide three superb sets with Bob Schwartz of Tennessee Whiskey joining them on stage for three numbers.
The next evening was a fun time when we all played quiz games organised by Angie; inevitably ensuring much happiness, laughter and fun. Tony was DJ for this evening and put on CD's which we could all dance to. A lovely laid-back and fun packed evening.
New Years Eve, the 5th evening for us, was “Party night”. What a night!! The evening unfolded with Tony and Angie on stage with Line dancing, Partner dancing and free style dancing until midnight with food and Champagne made available by our hosts to welcome in the New Year. Then disco dancing courtesy of Country Cowboy until well after 1-30am.
A final mention for Country Cowboy who performed his DJ role superbly as usual ensuring a seam free continuity to proceedings all the week.
Our thanks to Tony, Angie and the artists who gave us another great Cromwell Christmas holiday at the Marriott Hotel.
