We would like to introduce you to a good friend of ours, Tom Harland MBE.

We have had the pleasure of knowing Tom and his wife Christine for a number of years, and always enjoy their company.

They are line/partner dancers but first and foremost, they are avid Country Music Fans, who listen and appreciate good music.

Tom is a very interesting and learned person, that is the reason we asked him to contribute to our web-site. We were so pleased he accepted. We know you will enjoy reading his page whether it be about music or indeed any other topic.

Well Tom, it's over to you...........

SPEED LIMIT FRIENDS COMMUNITY (SLFC)

After having numerous conversations with Tony and Angie and a number of their friends, I enthusiastically decided to write reports following various Speed Limit holidays and have since received some encouraging comments from Speed Limit friends and like-minded people in the Country Music community.

What else can I do to help support my beloved country Music?

My idea is to contribute to the Speed Limit web site to share comments on my own Country Music experiences and activities associated with the Country Music scene.

The web site has an easy to use two way communication forum already in place, and I would welcome and appreciate via the forum any comments, views, opinions and experiences for my page that will help us all to get maximum enjoyment in the Country Music scene.

My view is that this approach would also in due course help our Country clubs to develop and prosper especially if you have visited a new or different club, been made to feel very welcome, would like to share that experience and would most certainly visit that club again.

Basically, I would like to see on my page any information that you think would be of interest to the SLFC. An example from my perspective would be that my wife Christine recently completed making a violin and a bow from sizeable blocks of various types of hard and soft wood, and is now taking lessons to learn to play it. I will be writing about how she achieved this in more depth on this page in the near future.

You may have a similar experience to share, or indeed a hobby that you would like to talk about in a formal or informal manner. For example; maybe you are committed to researching your family tree and through this page you could make new contacts through SLFC to help you with that research process.

Christine and I believe we have been incredibly fortunate to have made so many friends since we first met Tony and Angie through their numerous gigs and holidays. We are strongly of the view that Country Music certainly establishes friendships and helps to provide the opportunities to develop new friendships for us all.

I would like at this early stage to suggest the following subjects for shared discussions:

Information on Country Music events, especially if you are raising funds for charities.

Bands, duo's or soloists who have really impressed you and why!

Any hobbies, skills or experiences you would like to share or could perhaps be enhanced through discussion with members of the SLFC.

Please keep checking my page; it is my intention to update the page on a regular basis and help us all keep enjoying live Country Music.

Finally, if you have any ideas, comments and/or suggestions on how to make this page work well for us all please do not hesitate to let me know.

Many Thanks

Your friend Tom H
